North Carolina State head coach Mark Gottfried inked a contract extension on Friday, keeping him with the Wolfpack until 2018. Two days later, Gottfried got a committment Brewster Academy 2013 power forward Kyle Washington.
The news came from Brewster head coach Jason Smith early Sunday morning, announcing it through his personal Twitter account. Washington was reportedly on a visit at NC State.
Washington, a 6-foot-9 versatile forward, was considering five schools nine days ago, according to Smith - Ohio State, Iowa State Washington, Louisville, and Marquette
Washington, in his first year at Brewster after transferring from the Hotchkiss School (Conn.), is the second Bobcat Gottfried has landed. Small forward T.J. Warren is part of an impressive 2012 recruiting class for the Wolfpack.
Washington joins point guard Anthony Barber (Hampton High/Hampton, Va.) as the only two members of NC State's 2013 recruiting class. Barber committed on Sept. 15.
Notes: Brewster 2014 power forward, Chris McCullough was offered by Larry Brown and SMU on Friday. Ron Patterson has also scheduled an official visit with Xavier this upcoming weekend. Xavier had an in-home visit on Tuesday, which according to Patterson went well.
