Bonny Eagle 2014 point guard, Dustin Cole ran with MBNation this summer and was a key part to their run to the championship game at the Hall of Fame National Invitational Tournament in July. Along with teammate, Matt Barr, the 5-foot-11 Cole made up a talented backcourt, who helped the Nation knock off northeast powers in back-to-back days of the weekend tournament.

Cole enters his junior campaign as one of the top players in the state of Maine.

Terrence Payne: Entering the summer, what we're your expectations playing with MBNation, especially playing up an age group?

Dustin Cole: Entering the summer I was expecting to have a good one. I knew we were going to be playing up a division in the 17u. The National Invitational Tournament in Springfield was a good way to start the summer after we beat the City Rocks and Westcheseter Hawks, before losing in the championship to Middlesex Magic by one.

TP: Along with Matt Barr, who has already committed to Bently, you had a big-time performance at the Hall of Fame Invitational. What was it like to play so well on one of the biggest stages of the summer?

DC: It was a great experience for Matt and I this summer. After that tournament we knew that the rest of the summer was going to be going our way.  When the coaches were allowed to talk to us after the tournament we got a lot of calls from coaches talking about how well Matt and I played.

TP: What was the one thing that you took away from the weekend? And how did it set the tone for the rest of your summer?

DC: The one thing I took from that weekend was that we were playing at our highest point. We knew when we got to Florida for nationals that we had to continue playing the way we were. Matt and I knew that we had to carry the momentum into the next tournament that we had.

TP: Heading into the winter, what is the one thing you're working on to continue to build off the momentum you've created this summer?

DC: The one thing that I am working on is gaining muscle and work on everything to keep it at the top. But my whole team has been dedicated and has been staying in the gym to not get behind on everyone.

TP: Only a junior, but college isn't far away, what visits, if any, have been scheduled for the future? Anytime this decision can be made in the future?

DC: I am looking to visit Brown University and University of Vermont. I have visited recently Columbia University and University of New Hampshire. I also have talked to Bentley and Lehigh.
