Andrew Wiggins of Huntington Prep (WVa.) shocked few Thursday afternoon, when he announced he would join the Class of 2013.
Wiggins, widely considered the best high school player in the country, has offers from Kentucky, Florida State, Syracuse, North Carolina and West Virginia.
Huntington Prep coach, Rob Fulford confirmed the decision via his personal Twitter account.
"It's time for him [to show] that he is the best in college right now. I think he is ready for the next step. Academically-wise he is doing great. Maturity-wise he is doing great. He has a lot of talent. He is ready for the next step, and everybody knows it's time. It is Andrew's time. Next year is coming soon and he's ready," Mitchell Wiggins, Andrew's father, told USA Today's Eric Prisbell.
Mitchell Wiggins played in the NBA for six seasons, following a collegiate career at Florida State. The Seminoles recently got a commitment from one of Andrew Wiggins' best friends, Xavier Rathan Mayes.
Don't rule out John Calipari, who is still working on an already star-studded class. Andrew and Aaron Harrison, James Young, and Marcus Lee, all considered top-100 players by ESPN, have already committed to Big Blue Nation. Players like Julius Randle and Aaron Gordon are also still considering UK.
