Dominic Woodson, who spent last season at Vermont Academy, has verbally committed to Baylor Thursday afternoon, according to several reports.
Evan Daniels of Scout tweeted just at 11 a.m. about the news of Woodson's decision.
"I picked Baylor because it is close to home, it is a great academic school, they have a great coaching staff and we have a chance to win a championship," Woodson said told Reggie Rankin of ESPN.
The Round Rock, TX native picked Baylor over N.C. State. The 6-foot-9 center currently plays alongside the nation's No. 1 recruit, Andrew Wiggins and Xavier Rathan-Mayes, who is committed to Florida State.
Even though Woodson no longer plays in New England, the northeast region had a direct effect for why he ended up picking Baylor.
On Thursday, Daniels reported that Indiana was no longer recruiting DeMatha Catholic 2013 center Beejay Anya. Instead, Tom Crean and the Hoosiers wanted to focus their attenton solely on New Hampton 2013 small forward Noah Vonleh. Woodson and Anya both had trimmed their lists to only two, both included N.C. State.
Woodson adds to a 2013 recruiting class that will provide good length for head coach Scott Drew. Small forward Ishmail Wainwright (Montrose Christian/Raytown, MO) and power forward Johnathan Motley (North Shore High/Houston, TX) have previously committed to the Bears.
