Worcester Academy 2013 forward Thomas Rivard went off the boards Sunday evening, committing to James Madison University.
This was announced from his coach, Jamie Sullivan's Twitter account just before 5 p.m.
The 6-foot-6 Rivard had his first Division I offer come from JMU and he had previously visted the school. Rivard, while at the Elite 75 showcase this summer, told CoxSportsOnline.com that he was hearing from Bucknell, Fairfield, Columbia, Penn, and both Division II and Division III schools.
The Worcester forward is a solid pick up for James Madison. He's an all-around player on the floor. His offensive game has improved, while he can attack the boards and is willing to battle with bigger players on the defensive end.
Rivard is the latest commit for Sullivan and Worcester Academy. During the fall a trio of guards made their decisions. Matt Mobley picked Central Connecticut State, while Matt Panaggio committed to Lipscomb. The 2012 Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year, Rene Castro has committed and signed to play at Butler next year.
