Former Northwest Catholic guard and current Fishburne Military Academy Zach Lewis gave a commitment to Canisius on Monday.
ESPN's Reggie Rankin tweeted the commitment just before 5:30 p.m. Monday evening.
The 6-foot-3 Lewis had previously given his verbal commitment to Hofstra, before electing to take an extra year at Fishburne. Through a press release from the school, Canisus had announced commitments from Jermaine Crumpton (Niagara Falls/Niagara, NY) and Adam Weir (Canisius High/Tonawanda, NY).
"We are going to need to replace four seniors next season, so we knew we needed to go out and find some players that can help us fill a void, and I believe that's what we have," said Canisius head coach Jim Baron in the release. "We're excited to be able to recruit and sign two guys from Western New York as well. That was one of our priorities. Both Jermaine [Crumpton] and Adam [Weir] come from strong local high school programs with a tradition of winning and all three guys have played against some pretty good competition."
According to Rankin, this is Fishburne's 11th commitment. Fishburne also features former Northwest Catholic star, Kuran Iverson, who has committed to Memphis.
Canisius is currently 2-0 in Baron's first season as head coach.
