Kahlil Dukes' Senior Season - officially signed

November 23, 2012 Kahlil Dukes

Wassup World? I'm back for my third blog to recap November.

As you all know, signing day was November 14th. It was a very long, but deserving day. I was able to give a speech in front of my school and sign my National Letter of Intent to the University of Southern California. I had a couple interviews with the Hartford Courant and other media sources. I actually was invited to do an interview at Channel 3 Eyewitness News studios. They had me on their CPTVSports Gametime show (watch here) and spoke to me about my signing and the upcoming season.

I also capped the day off with Olive Garden, so it was a special day for me. Hopefully I inspired somebody in my school to get where I am today. After all, I believe that's why I am here. Not to make my own dreams a reality, but give others that hope and faith that they can do so as well.

The month got rough when my Trojans lost to UCLA in football though. I was very upset. But it's a family at SC, so it's normal. It's a little crazy how I got sucked into the Trojan faithful so quickly. I never watched so much football in two-three months in my entire life. I really love SC. I'm just glad to finally be a part of that family. I worked so, so hard. And I'm proud of me not because I signed but because I'm still training as if I have nothing.

Nov. 26 is our first day of practice at Capital Prep, so it's about that time to make this one last run to the sun. It's going to be a crazy month of December, let alone basketball season. God knows what he's doing and I will surely have fun this season. I just want to thank everyone for helping me get here and sharing this with me. I wouldn't be here without you guys.

I'll get back to you guys after Christmas.

Enjoy the holidays, I know I will.

Thank you and Fight on!
