Suffield Academy opened the season with a 76-48 win Saturday afternoon over Westminster School thanks in large part to the play of 2013 point guard Kendall Jackson making his debut for the Tigers.
Jackson, the post grad from Oakland, Calif. ended the game with 14 points and five assists. Neither team shot the ball well, but Jackson was able to jumpstart the Tigers' offensive on the defensive end - applying good pressure, forcing turnovers, and getting Suffield out on the break.
The 5-foot-9 point guard has previously taken an offical visit to Columbia back in October. Since then he has added some interest from Virginia Tech and Portland (one of the only west coast teams to show interest). Columbia is up at the top Jackson said following Saturday's game, while Vermont, Quinnipiac, Cornell, and Lehigh are all in the mix.
