BasketBull Hoops Fest tips off Thursday

Holyoke Community College will play host to a wide range of high school talent this week as part of the BasketBull Hoops Fest

Thursday through Sunday, top players from public, Catholic, and prep schools will be on hand, as well as top teams in the NEPSAC and a trio of teams from Canada. The first two dates, Dec. 20-21, will feature preps and public schools. Worcester Academy, Suffield Academy, Northfield Mount Hermon, Wilbraham & Monson, Williston Northampton, St. Thomas More, Masters School, and Cheshire Academy will all play in the first two days. Jean De Brebeuf and ALMA Academy from Canada are also slated for several games each.

West Springfield High and East Longmeadow High play Friday night in a matchup of the top teams in Western Mass.

The following two days of the showcase will be the second annual Catholic School Showcase. Catholic schools from New England, New York, New Jersey, and Canada will all play. Saturday features matchups between Springfield Cathedral and Holy Name (Mass.), Bishop Hendricken and St. Theresa's (Can.), as well as Bishop Kearney (N.Y.) and Saint Peter's Prep (N.J.) Sunday Saint Raphael's (R.I.) and Catholic Memorial (Mass.) wrap up the four-day event.
