Jalen Adams adds offer, others fly under the radar -- Around New England

Cushing Academy 2015 guard Jalen Adams has seen his recruitment skyrocket since joing Cushing. On Thursday, Mass Rivals announced Joseph added an offer from Kansas State, via Twitter.

West Springfield High is back to full strength with junior point guard Paul Bessette returning to the lineup. The 5-foot-8 Bessette made several key plays down the stretch for the undefeated Terriers (8-0) in a win over a good Springfield Cathedral team Thursday night at American International College. Bessette, fellow junior Andy McNulty and seniors Riyadh Asad and Chris Lipscomb form an experienced core for one of the favorites in Western Mass.

Wethersfield High (Conn.) has had a complete turnaround in 2012-2013, led by the trio of juniors Ryan Peterson and Pierce Weatherspoon  senior Bryant Molloy. Wethersfield is 5-3, after a 4-16 campaign last season. Peterson leads the Eagles balanced scoring attack with 13.5 points per game, followed by Weatherspoon (11.5) and Molloy (10.3).

Mount Pleasant senior captain Jovel Beckford is flying under the radar down in Rhode Island. The 6-foot-3 guard/forward dropped 37 points in a 61-55 win over East Providence. Beckford connected on an amazing 10 3-pointers.

Beckford ran into another top senior scorer earlier this week in Hope High's Mike Kargbo. Kargbo scored 26 points in a win over Mount Pleasant on Monday night.

Wells High (Maine) junior guard Jake Moody had 20 points...in the fourth quarter. The junior scored 38 points in a win against Cape Elizabeth on Tuesday. 

Marshwood's got seven 3-pointers from Dan Veino, en route to a 32-point performance in a loss to Westbrook.

Middlebury rolled past Montpelier 52-33 on Thursday behind 20 points from Perry DeLorenzo's 20 points. Milton senior Derryk O'Grady had a 28 point, eight rebound, eight assist game - flirting with a triple double in a win against Lamoille.

Pembroke Academy (N.H.) backcourt duo of PJ Flaum and Connor Walsh led Pembroke over Hollis Brookline, handing them their first loss. Flaum had 20, Walsh added 16 in the win.
