Western Mass. saw several players post big numbers this past week, starting with New Leadership 2013 guard Joe Crapps. The 6-foot-1 guard posted a triple-double with 23 points, 20 rebounds and 11 rebounds in a win against Agawam. Crapps, very athletic and quick to the basket; one of the top guards in the region.
Springfield Central 2013 center Chris Baldwin nearly got himself a triple-double with 25 points, 18 rebounds and eight blocks in a win against Springfield Cathedral on Tuesday night. 2013 forward Kamari Robinson scored 27 after being held scoreless in the first quarter. The 6-foot-8 sophomore is gaining interest from Villanova and Virginia to go along with UMass and Boston College.
West Springfield 2013 guard Riyadh Asad didn't notch a triple-double but the 6-foot-3 guard went off in a win against Westfield with a 40-point explosion. Asad connected on six 3-pointers, and did it in only three quarters. He added 11 rebounds. The Terriers have a big matchup next Tuesday with undefeated Putnam Vocational Technical Academy.
Even though Lowell fell to North Andover on Tuesday, Lowell's 2013 guard Jonathan Perez. The 6-foot Perez stroked six threes in the loss, including a clutch one with 32 seconds remaining to tie the score. Perez ended with 24. North Andover was led with Chris Bardwell's 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Silver Lake 2013 forward Tucker Bouchard reached the 1,00th point mark on Friday in a win over Whitman-Hanson with 27 points.
Newton North 2015 guard Tommy Mobley went for 19 points, but 2013 forward Korey Mui's double-double had a game-high 21 points with 10 boards in a win over Brookline.
