Thursday evening, Suffield Academy 2013 guard Jack Fay ended his recruitment, picking Brandeis University over several other Division III schools.
Fay had a wide range of schools involved in his recruitment. Cornell had begun expressing interest in him earlier this season while he had a steady group of D3 schools in the mix.
"It's just a great academic school and I really like the coaches," said Fay in a phone interview on Thursday night. "[I] feel like I fit in with the other players.
"Cornell was involved a little bit, but Brandeis showed so much more interest than them."
Fay picked the Judges over St. Lawrence, Lee, Denison and Grinnell among others. The 6-foot-2 guard was even on campus when Jack Taylor scored 138 points for Grinnell.
Brandeis head coach Brian Meehan is getting a skilled combo guard for next season. Fay can stretch the floor with his shooting, but he also has the ability to be a playmaker with good court vision and passing. The lefty will join a Brandeis team filled with other New England prep products.
The Judges are currently 17-7 on the season.
Fay joins Suffield teammates Colin Pascoe (Connecticut College), Mack Montague (Rochester) and Kendall Jackson (Columbia) as Tigers who have committed to playing college ball next year.
