  • Familiar foes: Cromwell-Hyde (CT) meet in title game for 4th time - The stage is now set for Round 4 of the heavyweight battle between Shoreline Conference boys’ basketball titans Cromwell and Hyde to be settled in the Class S state championship game at the Mohegan Sun Arena today. In one corner is Cromwell, the reigning league champion, winner of 25 games this season, making a return trip to the final after losing to East Windsor two years ago. In the other corner stands Hyde, the counter-puncher, owning the only victory over Cromwell this season. The Howling Wolves are hoping for their first title since 2003. The bell rings at 11 a.m. in Uncasville. - Read full article from New Haven Register
  • Groom (CT) paces Hyde past St. Paul, into title game - NEW BRITAIN — In the middle of the third quarter, Kendall Groom got the tip of his finger on the basketball, the way he had all night for Hyde. The nudge was just enough and the ball caromed away from Robert Cannata. Groom chased after it. He scooped up the loose ball and dashed to the hoop where Damon Alston was waiting for him. The St. Paul senior delivered a no-nonsense foul that knocked Groom to the floor underneath the basket. The Hyde bench called for an intentional but not Groom. He just sat on his rump and smiled. He was about to put his team ahead by 20. He was about to go to a state championship game for the first time. - Read full article from New Haven Register

  • Hyde (CT) ready for Shoreline showdown - The best two teams in the Shoreline Conference’s Small Division will square off Wednesday night.
